Project Overview:
As part of a larger re-theming initiative at Legoland Windsor, Metafence was selected by Merlin Entertainments to supply and install a custom-designed fencing solution that would blend seamlessly with the updated attraction area. Working closely with Legoland’s creative design team, we developed a bespoke system that delivered both visual appeal and long-term durability — all installed during a planned shut-down period to avoid any disruption to park guests.
Why Merlin Entertainments Chose Metafence
Legoland required a fencing solution that could be thematically integrated, offer long-lasting performance, and reduce ongoing maintenance. The previous timber queue fencing had become high maintenance and visually inconsistent with the park’s refreshed design language.
Metafence provided a bespoke composite system, combining recycled plastic and structural steel — ideal for high-footfall environments like theme parks. Our collaborative design approach and proven ability to work to tight deadlines during off-peak periods made us the ideal partner for this highly visual and operationally sensitive upgrade.
Work Completed
- Removal and disposal of the existing queue line timber fencing
- Installation of a site-specific composite fencing system, designed in partnership with the Legoland creative team
- Supplied and fitted queue line gates throughout the attraction
- Installed block point gates to allow staff to secure the themed area when needed
- Attached sections of the new boundary to existing structures, using custom fixings agreed on-site with the design team
